Welcome to the campaign to stop
the Red Route proposed for the
A461 - and let
people across the West Midlands join together to defeat CENTRO'S self
interested plans.

Red Route

This is an example of the traffic flow on the A461 at 5pm. Not quite the problem of traffic obstruction that Centro would have us believe justifies their ludicrous proposals! |
The A461/A491 campaign - ...communities,
from Tipton through Brierley Hill and to Stourbridge, are standing shoulder to
shoulder in opposing this Red Route. They are supported by MP Ian Pearson. A a
growing number of Dudley MBC Councillors are declaring their support for the
NO red route
campaign. Thank you to the Stourbridge
website for your support.
See how it is affecting others on the A34 - "in four days police have handed out 55 £30 fines." (B'ham Evening Mail) and click here to see what the Birmingham Friends of the Earth say
From the London Borough of Wandsworth site we get the true picture of bureaucrats riding roughshod over democratically elected representatives
"Whilst the Council generally supports the principles behind the red routes it opposed the designation of two routes in the borough, where it believes the red route would be unnecessary and inappropriate. Despite its opposition, the Council has been Directed to proceed with the implementation of both sections."
and indeed Wandsworth now seems to want to
abandon red routes ...
