Marc and Anne would like to welcome you to our small, friendly, family run Guest House. We offer high quality bed and breakfast accommodation, either en-suite or, with own private facilities. We are close to the bus and train stations and only a few minutes walk from the town centre, heliport and harbour. We are close to, but not on the main road and many guests have commented how quiet our street is.
Penzance is the perfect base for exploring West Penwith, an area noted for its fine, golden sandy beaches and spectacular cliffs. Attractions such as Lands End, The Minack Theatre and St Michael's Mount are easily accessible by car or public transport.
Penrose Guest House is a Grade II Listed Georgian building approximately two hundred years old, maintaining many of its original features. It is ideally situated for easy access to the town centre with its many shops and restaurants.The nearest sandy beach is only a 10 minute stroll away. We are open all the year round and have full central heating. We operate a non-smoking policy, for health and safety reasons, but smoking is allowed in the garden or under our covered porch.
We have three guest bedrooms. One double en-suite, one twin en-suite ( can be made up as a king-size for stays of 3 or more nights ) and one double, twin or family room with its own private facilities ( kingsize shower, washbasin, bidet and toilet ). The family room sleeps 3 people and has a double and single bed. All rooms are comfortably furnished with full sized colour televisions with Freeview, video players and tea and coffee making facilities.Family room and Twin room also have DVD/CD player. Supplies also include decaf coffee, herbal tea, hot chocolate and biscuits. Guests have access to their rooms at all times and are welcome to relax in our spacious dining room, where there are a selection of books and videos to borrow, as well as games to play. Weather permitting, why not relax in our south facing mature gardens and soak up the sun.
We willingly cater for people with special dietary requirements. Please let us know, at the time of booking, and we will get in any special foods or drinks required, so we can make your stay as comfortable as possible.
We operate an environmentally friendly policy, which includes recycling of all recyclable materials. The cooperation of our guests is greatly appreciated in this.

We accept payment by cash, cheque (up to £100, supported by cheque card ), or sterling travellers cheques as well as most major credit/debit cards.
Please note, we apply a surcharge of 3% on credit card payments, American Express and business cards, excluding payments made for deposit.
There is no surcharge on debit cards or cheque payments.
For all bookings we ask for a deposit of one night's applicable room rate where practical. If by cheque, please make cheques payable to M. White.
In the event of cancellation with less than 7 days notice if we are unable to relet the room, this deposit will be non-returnable. If the room is relet, or more than 7 days notice given, the deposit will be returned, less a £3 administration charge.
We operate a flexible check in policy. Guests can check in anytime on their day of arrival. If the room is not ready, they can collect their key and leave their luggage. Rooms are normally ready by 1.00pm. However, we do like to know time of arrival in advance as we do not have 24 hour reception. Check ins after 9.30 pm at night only by prior arrangement. On the day of departure, we ask that guests vacate their rooms by 10.00 am. Guests are welcome to leave their luggage, free of charge, for collection later in the day (subject to us not having prior commitments).

Whilst Marc & Anne would like to welcome all guests, we feel we should point out some features of the house which could make access difficult. Penrose Guest House is a Grade II listed building and so regrettably we cannot change the exterior or interior to provide wheelchair access.
Steps: Garden: there are 11 (in total) steps up to the house, 4 steps to the garden path and then 7 to the house. There is no hand rail.
All bedrooms are on the first floor and there are 15 steps with a banister.
The dining room is on the ground floor and guests are welcome to leave heavy luggage there overnight. Whilst we endeavour always to be there to welcome guests and help with the luggage, we will not carry unreasonably heavy suitcases or bags.
We are willing to provide our brochure, letters of confirmation and bills in large print upon request.
There is unrestricted parking in our street and the streets around us and a pay and display car park with CCTV is 3 minutes walk away by the railway station. It is acceptable to pull up outside our house and drop off luggage and then proceed to find somewhere to park.
We are prepared to cater for vegetarians who eat eggs and cheese, however we require prior notice if people have other specific dietary needs e.g. gluten allergy and we will then buy in special products if they are available locally.
We cannot cater for any pets or assistance dogs. We have a cat, whilst she is not allowed in the guest areas she is free to roam in the hall etc.
Our policy is strictly non smoking in the house, including halls, bedrooms and dining room. We have a table and chairs in the garden and guests are welcome to use them at all times and to smoke in the outside covered porch if it is wet.
All our pillows and duvets are made from synthetic material and do not contain feathers or down.
