A powerful ExcelTM utility to help simulate and debug code.

This simulator has been designed to provide some useful features when writing and debugging PICAXE code. It is based around an ExcelTM Workbook with extensive use of custom-designed VBA macros.

  • Displays status of variables, RAM, DATA ,Symbols, Chip pins
  • Allows user to define memory maps that are saved as related .TXT files.

'Simulator' is perhaps an overstatement as it only simulates the PICAXE commands internal to the chip, apart from simple low/high type commands. However despite this it provides full syntax checking of all commands and the ability to run code.

The .BAS files can be loaded and saved. However to actually run code on a PICAXE, you still need to download the code from the Rev-Ed Programming editor!

Note:

This Workbook has been developed purely for educational value and so the underlying code and hidden sheets are all accessible. It has taken a considerable amount of effort to write, and it is quite possible that there are still some errors. Please let me know about any you find, plus any suggested improvements, and I'll try to address them!
