Pixels manufactures turnkey
high definition digital video server systems with content scheduling and
communication software.
The ReelTimeHD High Definition Digital Video
Servers from Pixels provide streams of stunningly high quality HD MPEG-2
digital video and audio for a wide range of commercial and business applications
at an incredibly low price. Designed and built to play back HD MPEG-2
digital media to the internationally accepted ATSC HDTV standard ReelTimeHD
servers give you broadcast quality, high definition video and hi-fi quality
AC3 or stereo audio.

HD means much higher resolution, stunning
quality AND wide-screen as standard!
ReelTimeHD servers
output an extremely high-resolution video of 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720
pixels. The displayed resolution of 1080 HD media is 5 times that of standard
definition (SD) PAL video and over 6 times that of NTSC video. 16:9 wide-screen
format is also standard in HD compared to the regular 4:3 format of SD
video. Played onto the latest high-resolution plasma display panels and
digital video projectors truly stunning, cinema quality presentations
become an affordable reality.
Multi-channel configurations
Several
ReelTimeHD servers can be configured and synchronised together for multi-channel
HD MPEG-2 playback for applications such as virtual reality stereo 3D
and multi-screen panoramic presentations. The ReelTimeHD high definition
servers can be used in any local or distributed video application where
the highest display quality, cost effectiveness and reliability are important
factors. Some of these include: corporate presentations, in-store and
point-of-purchase (PoP) advertising, museums, exhibitions, theme bars
and restaurants, leisure and entertainment centres, simulator rides and
theme parks.

The ReelTime Player
HD user application is straightforward and easy to use for single or multi-channel,
synchronised playback. The confidence window shows the HD media being
played - useful when the operator cannot see the main display screen.
Professional quality systems
At the heart of the ReelTimeHD server, built in a rugged steel cabinet,
sits a high definition MPEG-2 decoder card. This specially designed card,
which is also sold separately to systems builders, is the leader in its
class in terms of functionality, price and performance. Each server is
assembled with the highest quality components and rigorously soak-tested
prior to delivery and installation. A UPS (uninteruptable power supply)
is provided for failsafe operation and enables the whole system to be
powered up, run and powered down merely from a main power switch without
any trained operator intervention. The ReelTimeHD server series is backed
by Pixels' unconditional 12-month warranty and expertise from our technical
support personnel.
Total system control
High definition
MPEG-2 media can be extremely large. For example a 20-minute HD program
would typically be in excess of 4Gbytes of data. Using a standard DVD-ROM
drive this amount of data can be loaded onto the ReelTimeHD server in
a few minutes. Exchangeable hard drives are also used to enable even larger
amounts of data to be quickly loaded. All ReelTimeHD servers are supplied
with a standard 100Mbps network connection allowing data and commands
to be transferred remotely using industry standard network protocols such
as TCP/IP. Standard serial communication ports and software are also provided
to enable ReelTimeHD servers to be controlled by all the leading makes
of show controllers such as AMX, Crestron and Dataton. Software is available
for remote updates of play-lists and content within a building, across
a network or across the world.
