MPEG-2 Digital Video Player & Network Appliance

Model: 1013
Measures just 4" x 8" x 1.75", 10cm x 20cm x 4.5cm, yet stores and plays over 12 hours of MPEG-2 video and audio media!!!

Explore the leading edge of digital video technology with the revolutionary new edje MPEG digital video player and network appliance.

The edje offers ease of use and superior performance to PC based servers and laser or DVD players. Its low cost, powerful features, high reliability and small size make the edje the perfect solution for today's demanding applications, from multimedia and entertainment to education and training, point of purchase and interactive kiosks. Experience MPEG on the edje today!

A Leading Edge Video Solution
The edje was designed to be a cost effective solution to control and manage the playing of MPEG 2 encoded video and audio programs in demanding retail, entertainment and multimedia applications. The edje is so small that it can fit in your pocket, and yet it is so powerful it can output the same high quality picture found in Adtec's broadcast grade MPEG 2 Digital Video Players and commercial inserters used by cable networks and television stations throughout the world. Best of all, its low price won't bust your budget.

Better Than DVD Players or Video Servers
What makes the edje better than a DVD player or a video server? The answer is simple. Unlike a DVD player, the edje is extremely robust and reliable. In fact, the edje can play videos continuously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for years without failure. In addition, play-lists, broadcast schedules and video material may be transferred into the edje remotely via its internal Ethernet connection. Thus, the edje functions as a network appliance providing the ultimate end-point solution for playing video material distributed through a Content Delivery Network (CDN) or a Virtual Private Network (VPN). And unlike most video servers, the edje is not a personal computer supported by a volatile operating system designed for running word processing applications and games. Instead, it uses a customized operating system specifically designed to optimize the play and management of MPEG-2 based video files.

Dynamic Integration Capabilities
Core configuration characteristics of the edje can be changed to allow integration into dynamic point-of-purchase and multimedia applications. The ability to change base operating system functionality makes the edje a great choice for use in training simulations, kiosks, and interactive applications. In addition, the edje can serve as a replacement for videodisk players in applications that use external control products. Companies like Crestron and AMX manufacture products that can easily control the edje via its RS-232 serial interface or its four-bit parallel interface.
