Mondo first came together in a dark basement in Redhill. They released their
first 7" in 1998, and was followed by two e.p.'s, all on the band's label
Moof Records. Tracks of all of these releases received radio play from Sean
Hughes ,Laura Lee Davies, John Kennedy and Claire Sturgess, amongst others and
enabled mondo to pick up more fans and friends. They signed to Mudhut for a
while, releaseing the Album 'This is This'. However the band are happiest when
working to the beat of their own drum, and so, after having built their own
studio, have returned to self financed projects with Moof Records, and the new
album 'Before the Fall'. The sound created is made up of slow soundscapes, buzzy
fuzzy guitars, and a touch of post rock. Not picked up yet by the UK press,
but New Zealand is right on the ball with, "More than just a CD, this is a work
of art; beautiful, fragile and addictive..."(Rip It Up)
