Nakeru got together at goldsmiths college in southeast london, where they have been rehearsing and playing gigs locally for almost two years now. The music is a result of many different influences, but with a strong focus on melody holding it all together. Of the influences, acts such as the flaming lips, cornelius, blur, weezer and the pixies are probably the more noticeable ones.
