ROTHKO
Rothko was formed in 1997 by Mark Beazley, originally as an all bass trio. Lo
Recordings released their debut album 'A Negative For Francis' and the band
have gone on to release 6 studio albums and one live album, on Lo, Bella Union
and Too Pure. In the spring of 2002 the original line-up disbanded and Mark
carried on the Rothko name, marking the new chapter of the group with Lo Recordings
releasing the 12" collaboration with ambient master Susumu Yokota, 'Waters Edge'
The critically acclaimed album 'Wish For A World Without Hurt' in collaboration
with Washington DC based sound and visual artist BLK w/BEAR (aka Jim Adams)
was released on Beazley’s own ‘Trace Recordings’ label in 2003. The current
lineup is Mark Beazley on bass, Michael Donnelly on bass, Ben Page on keyboards
and Tom Page on drums. Their new album, 'A Place Between’, was recorded with
singer Caroline Ross and is out now on Lo Recordings. Some press quotes for
