aA founder The Observa was intrigued by the appearance of two foot soldiers from a southern land armed with guitars and coloured sticks of rock…”So who’s in the band?” he asked the first. “It’s just Sam and me” Rowan replied. That night, with their identity established, the pair begun their assault and they haven’t looked back since. Sam and Me (Sam Pridell and Rowan Dawes) have been bringing magic and love to our ears for nearly 2 years. With their influences firmly rooted in pop, the philosophy is simple – write beautiful songs and take them onto the live circuit. Now based in London, over the past year the band have been gigging in London, Brighton and Manchester supporting the likes of Alfie, Lone Pigeon, Feist, The Kooks, Art Brut, Nine Black Alps and The Longcut. The summer started well with a successful appearance at Glastonbury. One of the house bands at the akoustik Anarkhy Clubnight, they are at the centre of the latest Manchester underground movement, and will be appearing all across the UK when the aA night goes on tour in October.
