Songs In The Dark is a night of candlelit music, comedy, poetry, art and more
taking place at the Betsey Trotwood, Farringdon, featuring a host of new acts
as well as regulars Jeremy Warmsley ("bursting
with more potential than I've ever heard from an unsigned artist" - MusicUnderwater.com
), and Simon Mastrantone (“a thing of potential
beauty” – Org Zine). It
began when Richard Dark wanted a venue to put on the kind of things he likes:
anything that displays independence, a DIY ethos, originality and passion. The
ultimate aim is to build a community of like-minded, creative souls who genuinely
love what they do, whichever side of the stage theyre on. This is not
a night for people who want to sell a million records to whoever or sign a publishing
deal with MegaFatHouse Publishers And Sons (ltd). This is a night for you to
come and live in. You will be looked after. NB SITD is not an open mic night.
Some
people call us naïve, others turn up
