London Transport RM1966 (ALD 966B)
1964 AEC Routemaster R2RH, Park Royal H36/28R
New in 1964 to Aldenham Garage, RM1966 was fitted with a Leyland O.600 engine and an exterior offside illuminated advert panel. The bus continued in London service until December 1987 and was purchased by Blackpool Transport in April 1988. By 1994 the bus was in store and in 1997 was bought by Reading Mainline. Although repainted, the bus was not used and by November 1999 had worked it's way north into the hands of McKindless of Wishaw.
It received a pseudo Central SMT livery, still worn today and was used for private hire work. The bus was purchased for preservation in 2004 and will be returned to it's Blackpool Transport livery.
