Greater Glasgow PTE LA1324 (LSU 381V)

1979 Leyland Atlantean AN68A/1R, Alexander H45/33F

New to GGPTE in 1979, LA1324 was one of three Atlanteans converted to short-bay configuration on the lower deck in an attempt to solve the structural problems being experienced with the Panoramic body style. Although successful, only a few further conversions were done and LA1324 is the only survivor. It spent most of its life operating from Knightswood Depot until transferred south in 1997 to First Western National and eventually on to Chepstow Classic Coaches.

Purchased for preservation in 2004, the bus will be restored to Strathclyde Transport livery with an original style two-piece front panel being re-fitted. At present, this is one of only two Glasgow AN68s with the traditional green interior to be preserved as a bus.
