Midland Scottish purchased over 100 Alexander R-type bodied MCW Metrobuses in the 1980's. This bus was new in July 1982, allocated to Milngavie depot. Upon the formation of Kelvin Scottish in 1985, it was transferred to that company, which later became Kelvin Central Buses. It returned to the Midland fleet at the end of 1996 and was purchased for preservation in 2001. This vehicle is expected to receive the third Kelvin Scottish blue and yellow livery with local Cumbernauld's Buses fleetnames.
