We only use a local abattoir - reducing the stress and environmental damage caused by long distance travel - where the highest standards of hygiene, welfare and meat inspection are maintained. Our beef is hung longer than normal (approx four weeks), which gives the meat much more tenderness and flavour. Our meat is sold ready cut and frozen into convenient sizes. Being quick-frozen, when they are at the peak of their flavour means that water in the food is frozen into smaller ice crystals, minimising damage to the cell structure of the food and retaining higher nutritional value without requiring any other method of preservation. Frozen food products can be kept safely for long periods of time without deteriorating, so we are able to make our foods available to you regardless of season or geographical location. |
BEEF
We rear our own calves from suckler cows that graze our land at Spring Farm. The calves after being weaned at no earlier than 6 months of age are finished on a home grown mix blend together with our own grass and maize silage.
