Standard Terms & Conditions
1. Admission / Service:
The management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone without giving reason or prior notice. Abusive or threatening behaviour, language or demeanour to our staff or customers will not be tolerated. We want all our customers to enjoy a pleasant experience and will do all in our power to maintain that. The Safety of our customers and staff is paramount.
2. Property & Title:
All goods must be paid for in full prior to title passing from The ICT Workshop Ltd to the customer. All goods remain property of The ICT Workshop Ltd until full and cleared payment has been received. Upon completion and full payment, the customer is entitled to receive their equipment plus any additional or amended items back from The ICT Workshop Ltd. The ICT Workshop Ltd reserves the right to remove, by whichever method is considered appropriate by the company, any equipment from our premises that are not collected within 14days of us informing the customer that work has been completed / ceased. We will hold you liable for any amounts due for work carried out, any additional transport / disposal costs and any cost incurred in chasing/ collecting the money that is owed. Should any payment be dishonoured title will be assumed immediately by The ICT Workshop Ltd and goods must be given over to The ICT Workshop Ltd. The ICT Workshop Ltd reserves the right to take possession of such goods and the customer shall be liable for any costs incurred in doing so. The customer also agrees not to interfere or obstruct The ICT Workshop Ltd taking possession of goods in this circumstance.
3. Service Agreements:
For upgrade and repair work, once an agreement has been reached by the customer, a verbal instruction from the customer or his / her agent to carry out further work shall be construed as an extension of the contract previously signed. All additional costs incurred following this work shall be chargeable as outlined during the discussion and / or at standard The ICT Workshop Ltd rates of work. At times we may be required to open a case / component which have an intact “Warranty Void” sticker from the prior dealer / manufacturer. If we are required to do so, The ICT Workshop Ltd does not accept any inferred liability for the warranty, nor do we accept liability for damage to casing or components except by negligence of our staff.
4. Warranty: Labour (In House/On-Site):
Due to the sensitivity of electronic components, all work carried out by The ICT Workshop Ltd is in a controlled environment and is covered by our own warranty. Should there by an problem with the work carried out this should be brought to the attention of The ICT Workshop Ltd within 5 days of the machine being delivered, whereupon investigation and / or correction work will be carried out. Should the fault be found to be with the work of our technicians, no further charge will be made. Should the fault be found to be with the software or the neglect, wilful damage or misuse, a new or unrelated fault, or a recurrence of a fault previously corrected but subsequently failing due to no fault of The ICT Workshop Ltd then our standard charges will be payable by the customer.
5. Warranty: Parts (New):
All new components are covered by a 12-month minimum manufacturer’s warranty. To protect both the customer and The ICT Workshop Ltd all machines will be sealed with a warranty sticker which should only be removed / broken by The ICT Workshop Ltd Computer technicians. Should the seal be broken / removed by anyone else, all warranties covered by The ICT Workshop Ltd shall be deemed void and the customer shall have to take the matter up directly with the manufacturer. Certain items are considered to be “consumables” and these include mice, keyboards, inkjet cartridges etc. These items (and all other consumables) are excluded from All warranty provision by The ICT Workshop Ltd.
6. Warranty: Parts (Used):
All used components are deemed “sold as see” and carry no warranty, unless otherwise stated by a director of The ICT Workshop Ltd.
7. Warranty: Systems (New):
All new systems carry a 12 month RTB (Return to Base) hardware warranty as standard. No software warranty is given or implied, other than direct through the producers of the software. Again, all systems will be sealed to protect the warranty and should be left intact and not broken/removed by anyone other than The ICT Workshop Ltd Computer technical staff. Should this seal not be intact when the machine is returned to / inspected by The ICT Workshop Ltd, the warranty provided by The ICT Workshop Ltd shall be deemed to have ceased. The customer is entitled to take any warranty matters up with the manufacturers, but the liability of The ICT Workshop Ltd shall be deemed ended.
8. Warranty: Systems (Used):
Any second-user complete system sold is with a 30 day RTB warranty unless otherwise stated in writing by a director of The ICT Workshop Ltd.
9. Warranty: Portables (New):
All Warranties are provided by the manufacturer, further details will be provided prior to and following purchase or upon request.

All used portables are covered by a 30-day RTB warranty by The ICT Workshop Ltd
11. Repair/Upgrades:
The ICT Workshop Ltd will carry out the work requested by the customer and as subsequently agreed (See 3 above). Should the machine have any other problems, which are not brought to the attention of The ICT Workshop Ltd, the company shall not undertake any work to rectify those problems unless subsequently agreed to by the customer and the company. Once completed, the system will be sealed by the The ICT Workshop Ltd technicians.
12. Data:
Excepting as agreed in writing The ICT Workshop Ltd do not accept liability for data and programs that may be held on any machine, or loss or corruption of any data during fault finding. The customer is responsible for ensuring that any data held on the machine which is of an important or sensitive nature is fully backed up before the machine is brought into the workshop, as The ICT Workshop Ltd are not responsible for any data held there. If software is essential to the diagnosis and repair of a fault then it must be on the machine in an operating condition. Customers may be asked to supply installation disks and manuals to assist in the fault finding process.
Note that whilst the machine is in use for fault finding the software license is also in use, so transfer to other machines may breach the terms and conditions imposed by software authors.
Customers should note that data of a sensitive nature or which may be covered by the data protection act should be deleted before a machine leaves their site and control. If there are problems in diagnosing faults without access to the data arrangements may be made to work on-site under customer supervision.
13. Data Recovery:
Whilst every endeavour will be made to ensure full recovery of customer’s lost or corrupted data, this cannot be guaranteed. The ICT Workshop Ltd shall accept no liability for data and programs that may be held on any machine, or loss or corruption of any data during data recovery. The customer is responsible for ensuring that any data held on the machine which is of an important or sensitive nature is fully backed up before the machine is brought into the workshop, as The ICT Workshop Ltd are not responsible for any data held there. The ICT Workshop Ltd shall accept no liability or responsibility for the operation of the storage device, loss of business or damages to associated equipment that might subsequently occur

14. Software Licence:
You accept responsibility for obtaining any licence required for the installation or use of software which has not been supplied by the Company and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company against any damages (including costs) that may be awarded or agreed to be paid to any third party in respect of any claim or action for infringement of copyright or other intellectual property rights in respect of the installation or use of software which has not been supplied by the Company.
15. Limit of Liability:
The total liability of the Company under or in connection with any contract for the sale and purchase of goods or services between you and the Company (arising from contract, negligence or otherwise) is limited in respect of any one event or series of connected events to the price of the goods or services. For these purposes, the price shall be the payment due for goods or in the case of services the aggregate of payments due in the period of one year immediately preceding the date of the event or the last in a series of events giving rise to the liability. However, the Company’s liability to you shall not be limited for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Company, its employees or agents.
You agree that the Company shall not be liable or be deemed to be in breach of contract by reason of any delay in performing or failure to perform any of the Company’s obligations if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond the Company’s reasonable control. Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing the following shall be regarded as causes beyond the Company’s reasonable control: accident, industrial dispute, breakdown or the non-availability of spare parts sickness of staff , Weather conditions,
Except in respect of death or personal injury caused by the Company’s negligence, the Company shall not be liable to you by reason of any representation (unless fraudulent) or any implied warranty, condition or other term or any duty at common law or under the express terms of the contract between you and Company, for any indirect, special or consequential loss or damage (whether for loss of profit or otherwise) costs, expenses or other claims for compensation whatsoever (whether caused by the negligence of the Company, its employees or agents or otherwise) which arise out of or in connection with the supply of goods to you or their use or resale or in the provision of services to you.
16. Payments:
For all components, service and upgrades/repairs work is due in full when work is completed / goods collected. For new and second user systems a 50% deposit is required with order prior to commencement and the remainder upon completion of the system. At the discretion of the company, this may be extended until the point of collection / delivery by The ICT Workshop Ltd. For items “Collected & Delivered” by The ICT Workshop Ltd for repair/upgrade/service payment must be made before goods are released. This can be done when the items are returned to your premises. All goods remain property of The ICT Workshop Ltd until full and clear payment is received. Should any payment be dishonoured, The ICT Workshop Ltd reserves the right to recover monies, goods to which title has not passed/goods provided by The ICT Workshop Ltd as well as costs from the customer until all outstanding amounts and costs are reimbursed and the company is no longer financially impaired by the actions of the customer.
17. Salvage:
We have a large number of machines being worked on at any time and finite space to work in. We do reserve the right to dispose of any goods which are removed from customer machines during upgrades/repair/service work and then not returned to the customers’ machine. Should the customer wish to retain any old components following the work carried out by The ICT Workshop Ltd then the customer should state this prior to any work being carried out. Should this not be done, The ICT Workshop Ltd takes no responsibility for the components removed whilst work is in progress or subsequently and reserves the right to dispose of the components at its own discretion and these items shall be deemed to the property of The ICT Workshop Ltd.
18. Collection of Goods:
All goods left for service / repair should be collected within 7 days of completion of work being notified to customer. All payments are deemed payable when work is completed. Should the customer not collect the goods within 14 days of being informed (by any communication means) that work has been completed, The ICT Workshop Ltd reserve the right to sell those goods to offset their costs. We will hold you liable for any amounts due for work carried out, any additional transport / disposal costs and any costs incurred in chasing / collecting the money that is owed. Should the amount raised by this sale of goods not match that owed by the customer in good working order unless stated on the collection note. Any work that is advised but not carried out due to customer instruction will be so at the risk of the customer.
19. Refunds:
Will only be given against goods that are found to be faulty within the warranty period, subject to those provisions set on above. Should the customer purchase goods that they later decide is not what they want, they are in fact, not entitled to a refund.
20. Consumer Rights:
Any statutory Consumer rights are unaffected by this Agreement
21. Special Order Items:
These are deemed to be items ordered specifically upon the verbal or written request of a customer which exceed the items carried by The ICT Workshop Ltd, i.e. those items that, without specific request or instruction, The ICT Workshop Ltd would not purchase for or on behalf of a customer or for stock purposes. Payment in full is required in these circumstances and may include delivery charges, dependant upon the supplier of the item(s). Refunds are not allowed on special order items.
22. Business Ownership:
This business is owned and operated by The ICT Workshop Ltd, registered office May Cottage, 3 George Street, North Weston Bristol BS20 6TD. The ICT Workshop Ltd is a services, repairs, upgrades and component sales company.
