About The Club
Founded
in April 2000 by musicians Paul Cowley, Andy Bole,
Mick Pierce & Hendrick Fahrenholt the Sutton Blues Collective has
established itself as a significant name on the British Acoustic Blues’ Scene.
The Club meets all year round at
8.00 pm
on the second Wednesday of every month at The Station Pub, Station Street Sutton Coldfield (see “How
to Find Us”).
A monthly

information relating to the acoustic blues world.
The Club is supported by local newspapers: The Sutton Coldfield
News, The Birmingham Post & Mail, Blues in

, The Sutton Music Library, local promoters and local music shops.
July 2002 saw the Sutton Blues Collective involved for the first time in
the 18th Birmingham International Jazz Festival when they presented
Paul Vernon Chester in concert and also busked in
Birmingham
city centre raising funds for local charity.
The Collective has presented
an impressive list of some of the worlds great Blues performers in the intimate
atmosphere of Good Hope Social Club (see “Archives”) and intends to develop
this element of the Club’s activities further.
Normal Club meetings take the form of an informal acoustic jam
session with musicians of all abilities welcome to join in, perform or just
listen if they prefer. Now
musicians wanting to enjoy the music as a listener are also very welcome. There
is a licensed bar at all meetings.
Entrance fee is currently £2. With the
exception of concerts (ticket prices vary).
The Club also boasts some very impressive professional & semi
professional musicians who are looking for gigs/bookings (see “Musician’s
For Hire Page”).
