Way Inn - the Way Forward -- 16th December 2007

The Trustees of the Way Inn have started their plans for a new exciting future. Feedback from the public consultation meeting in June 2007 has been in favour of separating the Post Office business from the Christian Centre. This would benefit both the town and the Christian work by allowing each half of the business to concentrate on what it does best.

Post Offices are having to become much more commercially oriented, which might not suit the Trust's aims, but could be very attractive to other retailers in the town. So we are testing whether any other organisation would wish to take over the Post Office business and staff. We wish to reassure customers that there are no plans to close the Post Office.

The Christian Centre will also be changing, to provide a better base for Christian friendship and outreach in the High Street. This might involve moving premises at some point in the future.

Public consultation on the future of the Way Inn -- 5th July 2007.

In June 2007 a public consultation meeting was held to discuss possible future plans for the Way Inn.

At this meeting, a presentation brochure was handed out.
