Nature Therapy in the Community.

We are delighted to run this project with Ecominds,
a grant scheme run by the mental health charity
Mind with funding from the Big Lottery, who have
awarded us £93,000 spread over a 30 month period
to develop outreach and enterprise initiatives -
acknowledging that Nature Therapy and the
support we provide at Winthrop Park it a vital resource for anyone
effected by mental distress or issues.
Providing a haven of peace and tranquility in our sensory gardens can be
a great form of relaxation, respite, and recuperation - catering for
the well being of the body, mind, and soul.We have already seen that
positive attitudes and better state of minds provided by visits to Winthrop
Park and relaxing in nature is a great healer and up-lifting experience,
enhancing the lives of those under stress or illness (like in the work place,
undergoing cancer treatment, etc), suffering from depression or anxiety,
head injuries, or with learning difficulties. We aim to support those
directly effected as well as their carers and families.
As well as the gardens we provide facilities and friendly atmosphere, so
the chances are you can find an isolated spot to be or mingle with
volunteers and visitors that find Winthrop Park the perfect place to be.
Supporting families and carers to gain
positive experiences by being here.
Visitors on the community bus
disappear quick to the Tea Room !!
If you think it’s a good
idea then come along
to Winthrop Park.
