RAISING MONEY FOR WINTHROP PARK
- WITHOUT COSTING YOU A PENNY !!!
How about organising a coffee morning, sponsored walk, beetle drive,
Cake bake, car boot sale, etc? Your donation to Winthrop Park would
make a tremendous difference to our charity as every penny goes
towards keeping the park open. It can also be great fun, and a way of
more people in the community getting to know about our charity.
If you are a UK Tax payer then completing a Gift Aid Form or Envelope
(which we have at the Park) if you make a donation or give us money
Allows us to re-claim 28% extra from the government !!! This means that
£100 is boosted to £128 - something for nothing.
Have you considered making provision for Winthrop Park in your
Will or discussing with your family aspects that may bring them
comfort in the future? We are being kindly sponsored by Wrigley’s
Solicitors who can offer initial free consultation and impartial advice
about such matters without any obligation. We have information
leaflets at the Park or you can click HERE to go to their web-site.
As a Registered Charity, without any association or connection with
any other organisation or funding streams, we are reliant on our own
fund raising, merit Awards, gifts, and donations to ensure Winthrop Park
remains open and entry remains free of charge for anyone in the
community that needs our support. The hard work of our volunteers
and Trustees together with the generous support from friends and
supporters of Winthrop Park enables us to do what we do within the
limited funding we have. Can you help us to help other? Here are a few
suggestions that people do for us:
STANDING ORDERS AND REGULAR GIVING
Setting up a regular weekly, monthly or quarterly payment from your
Bank or savings account may seem to be a small gesture, but collectively
These add up significantly and make a big difference. Would you miss the
cost of a magazine or alcoholic drink? Regular giving also allows us to
plan activities, as in this case we know the financial budgets we can work
within.
Each year we need to raise at least £45,000 to keep Winthrop Park open, and in
2011 we need to raise an extra £10,000 to kit out and equip the adjacent
building we bought and started work on in 2010 to transform it in to our new
Community Resources Centre for 2011.
