For Sale

The yearlings at the gate - all our horses are "dog-proofed"!

This page shows brief details of our youngstock and brood mares currently available for sale. They have all lived out throughout their lives but are used to coming into the stable.  They are hardy and healthy.   All have AQHA/APHA papers as appropriate and where necessary and all are passported with AQHA.UK.  All of the photos are strictly "working clothes" !  We are usually negotiable on prices, particularly given the current economic situation, although we respect and value our stock too highly to "give" them away.  Please visit 2009 Foals for details of our current crop of foals available.

Three Year Old

Dazzling Moses

Moses is a 2006 three quarter paint bred gelding whose pedigree is shown below.

Moses has an absolutely fantastic temperament.  He is calm and sensible and has the disposition of a much older horse.  He is easy to handle, good with the farrier and leads and loads.  Moses has recently been started under English saddle and has now been backed and is being lightly ridden.  He is going quietly and is good with traffic.

Moses is now ready to go on to further his education under either Western or English saddle and is looking for a good home where he will be truly appreciated.

Moses has now been sold to Lesley and Tony of North Yorkshire and has already moved to his new home.  Having had the honour of breeding him and the pleasure of owning him and, more recently, riding him I know what a lovely horse he is and can only wish Lesley and Tony much joy with him.

 Two Year Olds

Acorn Bo Peep

Bo Peep is a 2007 purebred bay filly by Roslin Stud's Shiny Little Spark out of Chipadee Reignlady - a fantastic pedigree!

She is a real little ball of muscle without it being over exaggerated.   She is athletic with good movement and looks like a typical QH.  Quiet to handle, leads and loads.  Good with farrier and has been routinely wormed.  She is a confident filly who  should make around 15/15.1hh.

A super, affectionate filly with a wonderful pedigree and lots to offer.  Her full sister. Acorn Dancing Queen, shown below so we have decided to keep Bo Peep for the moment.

            Dazzling Jack

Jack is a part bred bay 2007 gelding. He is an unusual combination, being 1/4 cob, 1/4 TB and half a Quarter Horse.  Jack is registered as a Section III part bred.

He is a really useful sort of gelding with loads of substance and good bone. He is particularly well grown probably maturing at around at least15.2hh.

It has been hard to take a good photo of Jack and these are not the best! He has really gone on lately and is turning into solid chap.  Jack is quiet to handle, leads, loads and is good with the farrier.  He has been regularly wormed.  He has an easy personality and is very amenable and would probably make a really good family horse.  He is a lot more substantial in the flesh than his photos suggest.   Must be sold this year hence £950 ono.

Yearlings

Maggie May and Sweet Caroline waiting patiently.

Please read on for details of all the yearlings available for sale.   They are all quality youngsters and have lived out all their lives as our horses do.  They all have good temperaments and have had basic handling. They are currently receiving more education as time (and weather!!) permits.  They are priced appropriate to their maturity and learning at present but prices will constantly be reviewed according to each individual's development and in line with the current economic climate.   We have never offered youngsters at such reasonable prices and they are not likely to be ever be offered at lower prices.  It is an excellent time to buy.

Purebred Quarter Horse Yearlings

Acorn Sweet Caroline

Caroline is out of Classical Blue Babe and by Tinsel King.  Sadly, we lost Blue this year and Caroline was her only filly foal.  She is a beautifully made young mare, very well grown and will mature at around 15.1 to 2.  She is bay with a small star and snip.  She will qualify for NFQHA registration at 80%.

Blue was bred from speed lines and this filly will be quite sharp and fast and would suit a rider who wants these qualities.  However, she is also a quick learner and will be a very responsive ride.  More photos coming soon but please contact me if you want some more immediately.

Caroline is for sale at £1,750 ono.

Acorn Maggie May

Maggie May is by Tinsel King out of Seren Magie Joe.  She is bay with two small white hind socks and striking facial markings.  She should make around 15 hh to 15.1 hh.

Maggie May is very friendly, enjoys attention and is very knowing.   She is an "old soul".   She has good QH conformation and is very amenable.

She is a fantastic prospect as a leisure or future brood mare. Some of her older siblings are now going nicely under saddle and Maggie May should prove the same.  Her NFQHA percentage would be 84%.

Her asking price is £1,750 ono

Acorn Mickey

Mickey is another son of Tinsel King out of Fancy Napoleonette.  He was born sorrel but is now greying out.  He is a nice gentle gelding with correct, straight conformation and particularly good athletic movement.  He should make around 15 hh.

As someone remarked recently, Mickey is a sensitive chap. He is quiet and respectful to handle.  He would probably do well in a one-to-one relationship in a long term home.

Mickey's siblings have all proved to be intelligent and quick to learn and he should prove no exception. He could do well under English or Western saddle.

Offers based on £1,750 for this fine young horse.

Acorn Dancing Queen

This lovely sorrel filly is a real little power house with a prestigious pedigree being by Roslin Stud's Shiny Little Spark and out of Chipadee Reignlady.

She should make a little over 15 hh. She has four white socks and a white strip.  She has superb conformation and lots of "look at me".  Friendly and amenable, she is an outstanding prospect.

We rate this filly and she has many proven horses in her pedigree.

Dancing Queen has now gone to her new home near Cardigan with Julie Wilson who is a recent convert to Quarter Horses.  We hope she has joy and success.

Acorn Alabama

Alabama is our only palomino foal of 2008 and is turning a really rich colour.   He is by Tinsel King out of Ms San Leo Rojo and is her first palomino and her first colt foal.  He has lovely muscle definition and is a very rich palomino colour.

He will make around the 15 hh to 15.1 hh mark.  With his looks and pedigree Alabama should really be "the biz" under Western saddle but, of course, could be equally eyecatching under English.

Alabama would be 86.5% NFQHA.

Alabama is a real character and will be quite a forward going ride as he is quite sparky.  He has a slightly enlarged fetlock which won't affect him at all but is reflected in his asking price.

£1,750 ono

Paint Horse Yearlings

Acorn Peggy Sue

Peggy Sue is a red dun overo mare,  imported in utero, but this time a filly. She is APHA registered and as pretty as a picture with a lovely dainty head and lovely dorsal stripe.

She has and endearing, outgoing personality.  She is by Sum Moore Tin (the same sire as our mare Sum Moore Fashion) out of WC Deliberately Dun.

Peggy Sue should make  around 15.1 hh or possibly more as she has grown such a lot through the winter.  She is shown with a slight umbilical hernia but this has now been corrected.  She is a lovely ridden or brood mare prospect and her unusualy colouration makes her particularly attractive.

£2,000 ono

Part Bred Quarter Horse Yearling

Dazzling Daniel

Daniel was our only part bred foal in 2008.  He is a lovely sorrel gelding by Tinsel King out of Dazzling Polka (Section III QH).   He should make around 15.1 or so.  Daniel is quiet but will not be a sluggish ride.  He is lithe and agile and is also quite bold.

Daniel is registered as a Section II part bred with AQHA.UK but also has an eighth paint horse in his pedigree, making him nearly completely western bred.

Daniel has a lot of maturing to do but will make a smashing little horse.  A less expensive option for those who aren't too worried about the papers.

£900 ono
