PAINT HORSE AND OTHER MARES

On this page you will find details of our two Paint Horse mares.  They were both imported from Canada and come from selected bloodlines which show proven versatility in their pedigrees.

If you have any queries, please ask and we will do our best to help.  All enquiries for our current crop of foals and other youngstock most welcome.

Paint Horse Mares

Sum Moore Fashion

Sale agreed

2002 red dun overo mare by Sum Moore Tin ex Ima Lacey Fashion.  We imported this mare from W5 Paint Horses in Canada.  She has been lightly ridden and produced her first foal and our very first paint horse colt in 2008.  With great looks and temperament, Fashion is a valuable addition to our brood mare band.

In 2009 she produced a really pretty, though solid coloured, bay foal by Tinsel King who is pictured above with his dam.  This gelding, Acorn Moore Chance, is now a yearling and available for sale on the relevant page.

Fashion's pedigree is shown above.  She is in foal to Poco Pepsi Bye, homozygous APHA stud, for a 2011 foal.

We have now taken a deposit on Fashion with sale pending.

Fashion's foals to date are:-

Acorn Jack Flash, pictured above as a foal is a 2008 red dun overo colt by HH I Got Charisma Tu, imported in utero.  He is now in Surrey with Dale Bickers.

Acorn Moore Chance, 2009 bay gelding by Tinsel King.  "Donald" is pictured above as a foal.  See Yearlings For Sale for more details.

WC Deliberately Dun (Libby)

NOT FOR SALE

2004 red dun overo mare by NTS Wild Card ex Just Plain Pretty.  Libby is a line bred mare we brought into the UK with Fashion (above).  She duly foaled her first foal in 2008, imported in utero, a lovely red dun overo filly.  She has a particularly laid back temperament and is very sweet natured.  Libby  produced a really unusually coloured filly, pictured above, in 2009 but, sadly this foal died in August from a twisted gut.

Libby's foals to date are:-

Acorn Peggy Sue 2008 red dun overo filly by Sum Moore Tin picutred as a yearling.  Peggy Sue is now at the Golden Triangle Stud.

"Gracie" was Libby's 2009 filly foal by TK.  Sadly she died in August 2009.

Libby has produced a solid sorrel colt foal this year, 2010.  See the 2010 Foals page for more details.

Non Quarter Horse Mares

Dazzle (Reference Mare)

1989 chestnut mare.  Breeding unknown.  We bought  Dazzle as a riding mare in 1993 and subsequently used her as a brood mare.  We have retained some of her offspring, including Bobby Dazzler, and she has really produced a minor dynasty for us!!  Dazzle has now retired from stud duties.  She has well earned her keep.

Sadly we lost Dazzle on August 10th 2010 following a freak accident in the field.  Although saddened by her loss we are comforted by the fact that she led a happy life, giving us 9 foals, so her genes will be immortalised through them.

Dazzle's progeny include:-

Bobby Dazzler, 1995 sorrel mare by Sonny Steele.  Retained.  More details are given below.

Rodneyjazz, 1996 sorrel gelding by D bar S Blue Bayou (Paint Horse).  Rodney is pictured above.  He is a great riding horse and is currently on loan to Hartpury College in Gloucestershire.

Dazzling Sunbeam, 2000 sorrel gelding by Red Hot Profit (QH) originally sold to Vicky Young of Somerset but now sold on to a home in the North of England.

Dazzling Dream, (above) 2002 palomino gelding by Desired Vision (QH).  Dream (pictured above) is owned by Katherine Lougher of Worcestershire.

He is used for a range of events under English saddle, including jumping, pleasure rides, dressage and TREC.  He has a lovely temperament and is a real character.

Dazzling Max, 2003 sorrel gelding by Desired Vision (QH) is now used for a range of Pony Club activities in South Wales.

Dazzling Iris, 2004 palomino mare by Desired Vision (QH) is now owned by Fran Hill of South Wales and produced her first foal in 2008.  They are both shown above.  She has now produced her 2009, again a coloured one, so is proving herself as a brood mare.

Dazzling April, 2006 sorrel mare  by Tinsel King is owned by Hannah Fletcher of Hampshire.  She is started and is now being trained as a prospective polocrosse pony, being bold and quite sharp.

Dazzling Sixpence, 2007 palomino mare by Tinsel King is now owned by Lisa Cartman of Cricklade who sent us this picture.

Bobby Dazzler

NOT FOR SALE

1995 sorrel mare by Sonny Steele (Paint Horse) ex Dazzle.  Bobs was our first attempt at producing a coloured horse and, guess what, we got a solid!  Bobs has always been crossed with a QH or Paint Horse and has never produced an inferior foal.  Indeed, her progeny look like purebreds and most compete under Western saddle.  Bobs is taking a well earned break from breeding but watch this space.....................!

Bobs's offspring include:-

Dazzling Blaze, 1999 sorrel gelding by Red Hot Profit (QH).  He was ridden Western in his original home but has been sold on.  If anyone knows where he is do, please, let me know.

Dazzling Polka, 2000 sorrel mare by Red Hot Profit (QH).  She has been retained as a brood mare.  See Quarter Horse Mares page for details.

Dazzling Duchess, 2003 sorrel mare by Desired Vision (QH) is owned by Mia Tobitt in East Anglia.  They compete successfully under Western saddle.  Just goes to show how wonderful even the part bred QHs are!!  Well done, Mia, on all your success with Jess.

Dazzling Red Moon, 2004 palomino gelding by Desired Vision (QH) is now owned by Janis Williams of Liverpool.  Sadly he sustained an injury as a youngster which means he cannot be ridden.

Dazzling Moses, 2006 bay gelding by Classys Star Buck is now with Tony Owens in Thirsk where he has grown to be 16 hh and is fulfilling his potential.
