Arrival of 2-6 MeV Betatron High Energy X-Ray Unit
Aerotech
Inspection & NDT Ltd is proud to announce the arrival of
their new 2-6MeV Betatron High Energy X-Ray Unit.
Unlike conventional method
of radiography, the 2-6 MeV Betatron allows us to
penetrate steel up to 300mm thick and concrete up to a
meter thick. The Radiographs are produced to a higher
quality than its Cobalt and Iridium counterparts at a
much faster pace.
Location: The new Betatron had been
installed at Aerotech's third site in Gornal, which is
conveniently located within the West Midlands close to
all major transport links.
The facility is a purpose
built radiation exposure bay measuring 19m long x
4.5meters wide and 3.8m high. It also benefits from a 5
tonne overhead crane, which enables us to inspect large
castings and components.
If you have any queries or
require more information please do not hesitate to

27 Apr 2005 - Airbus A380
The
world's largest passenger plane, the Airbus A380, has
landed safely after completing its maiden flight.
The A380 designed to carry as many as 840 passengers
took off from its production site in Toulouse, France
for a four hour test flight circling the Bay of Biscay
before returning to base.
Aerotech has been involved in the project providing NDT
and X-Ray inspections on many of the casting components
used to make up the wing sections of the plane.
Following inspection and approval of the castings at
Aerotech's Cradley Heath laboratory the components were
assembled at the Airbus site in Broughton, UK.
Aerotech's Quality and Technical Director Rob Couldrey
said, "It is great to be involved in such a high profile
project which underlines Aerotech's ability to work at
the quality forefront of the NDT industry."
