Ultrasonic examination is a method of determining the
internal and surface integrity of components in all
metals using high frequency ultrasound. This is
achieved using probes that generate various types of
sound wave depending on the probe used and results in
different planes of defect detection. Several types of
sound wave are usually used to give the optimum
results.
The

Inspection is carried out to prepared and approved
techniques by operators who are qualified to
internationally recognised standards covering PCN, ASNT,
NAS410 and EN4179.
All
systems are covered by control checks to ensure
repeatability in line with the requirements laid down by
UKAS.
