AFD Adds
Dutch Dimension
Dutchman Mart
Heerschap recently joined the AFD
consulting team. Mart is highly qualified in the field
of structural analysis; specialising in non-linear mechanics
involving inter-component contact, large deformations
and material non-linearity like failure.
Mart has developed his expertise in this field over
many years but the foundation was laid during his PhD
research and subsequent full-time post with MSC where
he was involved with the development of the PATRAN/DYTRAN
software, for 5 years.
Setting up his own consultancy (MGts) Mart went on
to grow his expertise by providing advice and performing
analyses in the automotive, offshore, aviation and space
industries and also delivering training courses.
Mart now wants to develop his business and he sees
AFD as the ideal vehicle
for collaboration!
AFD Introduces
Training Course Capability
In order to offer clients with a value added service
AFD has decided to introduce
a training course capability offering introductory courses
on the following topics:
- Static Stress Analysis
- Fatigue & Damage Tolerance
- Finite Element Modelling
- Composite Structures
The AFD strategy is
to offer modular and overlapping 'bespoke' courses that
match with the client needs.
The objective of each course is to provide an introduction
to the basic principles and analysis techniques required
in the stress office, providing opportunities to practice
the techniques through numerous 'hands on' exercises.

page for further details.
