Andrew Douglas-Forbes

Andrew Douglas-Forbes shows his work regularly at the Gallery, although he doesn't always manage to visit his own exhibitions - he has a career as a professional opera singer in Italy. Consequently, views of Italian towns and interiors are added to his Welsh subjects townscapes, cottages and coastal views. This time, however, his work shows a new development - groups of figures at work, which are transformed by the artist's use of light and colour to become symbols of strength and endurance.
