Gold Challenge

BSCC is a participating centre for the Gold Challenge - a national initiative encouraging individuals, families or other groups to raise money for charity by trying a number of Olympic sports. This can include canoeing/kayaking.

If you would like to try canoeing/kayaking, BSCC can offer you many opportunities to gain Gold Challenge points, including:

• attend coached sessions (typically 2 hours each, held on Sundays) [3-5hrs 10 points, 6hrs+ 20 points]
• compete in competitions [20 points]
• achieve PaddlePower Start [1 bonus point]
• become a BSCC member [3 bonus points]
• attend regularly and achieve One or Two Star standard [4 or 10 bonus points]
• complete the Canoe 2012 Sprint Challenge, 20m in 12 sec [5 bonus points]
• become a CanoeEngland member [14 bonus points]
• paddle in a National Regatta at Nottingham [15-18 bonus points]

Simply contact the Club Secretary to arrange your first visit as described on the Join Us page and mention that you are participating in the Gold Challenge. You will need to have registered on the Gold Challenge website (www.goldchallenge.org) to receive your certificate, which you should bring with you when you visit the club.
