Placing an Order
Please feel free to ring me with
any queries and for a no-obligation discussion of how I may be
able to help you.
If you decide to place an order
with me, I will send you a written summary of the work that you
have asked me to undertake, the cost, expected start/completion
date, and a full copy of my Terms & Conditions before you
place an order. When you have confirmed your order in writing,
and made the agreed payment, I will begin the research.
You can be assured of receiving
a personal and friendly service at all times. I take a pride
in the quality of my work and the standard of my presentation
and will make every effort to ensure you are happy with the service
you receive.
Payments
Payments for the services described
on this website are made to Angela Aldam before work begins.
I can accept sterling cheques, internet bank transfers or PayPal.
VAT does not apply. When
buying a Package for yourself, however, payment can be made in
installments.
Ancestors not found?
Sometimes an ancestral line will
be untraceable in English records due to loss of the archives,
illegitimacy, adoption, immigration etc.
Customers paying for research
by the hour have the option to discontinue research at any time
and receive complete refund of the remaining monies.
For fixed-price Package customers,
I offer a refund guarantee - in the unlikely event that none
of your ancestral lines can be traced back to the target date,
a scaled refund will be given and you will pay only for the work
successfully completed.
Family history as a gift
Family Folios standand and heirloom
reports both make excellent presents. However, family history
research often leads into unpredictable areas, making it impossible
to guarrantee a deadline for a surprise gift. The best solution
is usually to give the gift recipient a Family Folios Welcome
Pack on their special occasion. The recipient uses the Pack to
help them gather together what they know. This gives them the
opportunity to feel involved with the project from the beginning,
and ensures that any areas of particular interest to them are
covered. Their memories, photos and family stories can be woven
in to bring the story down to the present day. Many of my customers
tell me that they really value the opportunity to personalise
the project in this way.
I can send the Welcome Pack either
to you so that you can present it personally to the recipient,
or I can send it directly to the recipient if you prefer. The
recipient can then contact me at any time over the next 6 months
to confirm that they would like the research to begin, and to
receive any help they need in gathering the initial material.
Alternatively, if the recipient decides they don't want to proceed
for any reason, I will make a full refund to the original purchaser.
