Standard Fixed-Price Family
History Package
The package has been constructed
to deliver meticulous research in a cost-effective and understandable
format.
I will gather information from
the key national sources and collate all the information discovered
into the Family Historian genealogy database system. From this
I will print out family tree charts and detailed reports for
you.
The report will include:
- A summary of the research path
followed
- Details of one ancestral line,
usually going back to the beginning of civil registration (1837
in England/Wales), fully supported by references to the original
source material.
- Many full birth, marriage and
death certificates for key events, with transcriptions.
- Copies of census and other original
material, with transcriptions of the handwritten items.
- Family tree diagrams up to A3
size
- Explanations of the principal
sources used in the research.
- Guidance about possible further
research
As well as the family book, you
will also receive a resource CD, featuring:
- Electronic copies of the above
reports and charts which you can print out or email to other
relatives.
- Images of the original documents
recorded in the course of the research (subject to copyright
permission).
- A GEDCOM file of your family
history data. This can be used to place all the known facts into
almost any commercially-available family history computer program.
Even if you do not have such a program yourself, you may find
it invaluable to send to another genealogist in the future.
Optional extras
If you wish I can also
provide a browser-navigable e-Family, decorative A3 charts for
framing, or a large-format (banner) chart for a small extra charge.

FAQs
What information do I need
to provide?
The birth or marriage certificate of a parent or grandparent
from the early 1900s is an ideal starting point. The more information
you can give me, the better - but don't worry if you don't already
know very much, as I can start with very little if necessary.
How many of my ancestors will
be discovered?
Beginning with the source
person you have selected (born in the early 1900s), I aim to
work back three generations along one line - most people select
a particular surname to be followed. Alternatively, you may wish
to trace those following a particular profession, the purely
maternal line, or the line who go back furthest in a particular
town or village. I would usually recommend covering only one
line at a time. If you would like an estimate for researching
two or more lines, please contact me to discuss.
