At first glance you wonder how they can possibly get away with making a claim like this...

So we decided to test this claim. We took a SureFire G2 Nitrolon (SureFire's entry model) and a LARGE 4 D Cell battery torch, the Large one's security guards use. We stood 3 feet from a well and turned them both on. Both had new sets of batteries

So the SureFire G2 is the brighter of the two..... big deal. Well actually we think it is. Take a look below at what produces this blinding light!

G2 Nitrolon

The large flashlight on top is obviously the very well known brand of 4 D Cell torch. The 4.9 inch long, 3 ounce flashlight is the amazing G2 Nitrolon. SureFire's commitment to building the world finest torch is driven by the needs of their main customers.,Special Forces from round the world hunting terrorists. They need a light they know they can depend on, as does a SWAT team conducting a midnight raid.

SureFire have been making Lasers and Weapon mounted lights for many years now, but don't let this put you of buying one as a member of the general public. SureFire user all the technology they put into the hi-spec military flashlights and added it to a very nice range of personnal torches such as the G2 and 6P Original. Ideal for use around the house, those DIY tasks in the dark (I can vouch for those!), as a work tool, the G2 Nitrolon is ideal as it is made of a polymer which does not conduct electricity but is very strong and does not rust. If it's something with a little extra power then the SureFire 9P Original is the boy for you with it's 105 Lumen bulb!

Police around the world use SureFire Flashlights as a defensive tool. You are out at night and someone is following you and tries to attack. The SureFire torch is so bright it will temporarily blind the attacker giving you time to escape.... or in the case of the police arrest them!

SureFire A2 Aviator

SureFire have produced many specialist Torches over the years, but the most practical one for day to day use has to be the A2 Aviator. It has the same bright white light as normal but it also has 3 LED lights which come in 4 different colours. The A2's coloured LED light doesn't destroy your night vision the way a white light would, but at 3 lumens the light is bright enough to see what you are doing..... if it's not just press a little harder and turn on the normal bright light. Although it was designed for Pilots to check aircraft before take-off and the LED light as an emergency cockpit light the SureFire A2 Aviatior is amazing on camping trip, DIY, Hiking, Hunting!

For those of you who use SureFire in more of a professional capacity, which would be a large percentage of our customers. e.g. London Metropolitan Police, North Yorkshire Police Scene of Crime Department, RAF Military Police, Falkland Island Police, British Army, H.M. Customs and Excise etc. These

Red LED light as we've explained doesn't distroy your night vision and animals don't see in the red spectrum... so they say! Ideal if you are trying to observe wildlife. Blue light is ideal for tracking blood trails or spotting blood if you happen to be at the scene of a crime! White, when you need to see things in their true colour and Green or Yellow/Green seems brighter than the other colours. We say SEEMS as they are actually no brighter, but your brain thinks they are.

If you would like something tried and tested then I would suggest the SureFire G2Z Nitrolon or the Surefire Z2 CombatLight. These are basically the exact same flashlight except that the G2Z is made from the same Nitrolon Polymer as the G2 and the Z2 Combat Light is made from CNC machined aerospace-grade aluminum. The Z2 is standard issue to all FBI agents when they graduate from Quantico. The G2Z is issued to US Air Marshalls on internal flights in the USA!

Nothing much on the market today can even come close to the SureFire quality but BlackHawk are having a dam good go! The new Gladius is amazing. Looks wise you can't help but see an influence from SureFire's CombatLight range.

Technically Night-Ops have takes flashlights to a whole new level! Yep it's very bright, just like a SureFire. Yep, you can have a lower level of light just like the SureFire A2 Aviator but with the Gladius you can dim it gradually down from 100% brightness down to the level you desire to still be able to work. But the most amazing setting has to the the strobe affect. Designed to confuse and disoriantate your apponent.

The flashlight pusles at a rate that you brain and eye can not manage. Shining a bright light in someone's face in the dark is great and give you time to escape an opponent but with the pulsing light affect of the Gladius this affect is drastically increased.
