With the extra mild weather in November the fishery has been extremely busy with Open match’s on a Thursday and Saturday being very popular. Fishing has been excellent on Horseshoe lake with weights hitting close to 100lb with close weights around the lake. Silver fish Open match’s were also started this month but unfortunately it did not take off even though the lake holds some great silver fish with Ide, Roach to over 2lb and skimmers and Bream to 6lb.
House Pool was drained down and fish all removed into Horseshoe and Arrow lake ready for alterations to be carried out in the new year. But since writing this letter we are still waiting on planning consent due to various reasons. This lake had never been drained in its history as far as we are aware and it threw up a few surprises. Huge amount of double figure Carp and Bream to nearly 8lb and big amounts of silver fish, and biggest surprise was the eels to 6lb.
After a great run in the Angling Times super cup last year we have decided to run two teams next year. We have our A team which is being ran by Les Ayres and Warren Beach who are both sponsored by the fishery. Team B is being ran by Craig Evans who works along side me at the fishery. So good luck to both teams in the new year!
