Frequently Asked Questions .....

Q.  How long should we allow for photographs to be taken?
A.  This will depend on the service chosen and will be discussed fully with you, but allow at least an hour after the service.  It’s important to allow plenty of time rather than find you have to rush to meet a deadline set by caterers, for example.

Q.  What do you define as ‘informal’ photography?
A.  A more casual style of photography, along with black & white, has seen a huge increase in popularity.  A balance of this and more formal photography can be ideal.  Digitally enhanced and toned prints are also available.  The following may help explain the styles ….

Traditional: classic, formal portraits and group photographs with everyone looking their best.
Casual:  pictures arranged for composition and lighting but in a very relaxed style, with people often looking towards each other rather than straight at the camera.
Journalistic / Reportage:  informal shots taken at random to capture the emotions of the day.
Detail:  photographs of close detail, such as flowers, shoes or dresses, which would not normally  be captured fully on a more traditional shot.

Couples choosing a contemporary album coverage will have far more detail and spontaneous shots to choose from.

Q.   What if it rains?
A.   We can discuss all the options in case of bad weather.

Q.  Will I get chance to discuss exactly what I want taken?
A.   Absolutely.  You will be invited to the studio some weeks prior to the wedding for a full discussion.

Q.  When will previews be put on the internet?
A.   They will be ready to load within a few days and can, with your permission, be downloaded.  Some couples do prefer to wait until they have seen the photographs first before authorising this and we will respect that.

Q.  When would the photographs be ready to view?
A.   Normally within 7 days, so you can contact us on return from your honeymoon to arrange to view your photos at the studio. These are shown in the form of a slideshow presentation; a really great way to relive the day again.  An album plan will be ready for you to view too (see note below)

A proof album containing all the photographs taken on your day will also be ready for you to take away, plus a CD to assist you with viewing the previews slightly larger, to help with your choices.

Q.  How long with our album take to complete?
A.   When you view your preview photographs an album plan will also have been prepared for you.  You could approve this layout, with adjustments if necessary, there and then, or take up to two further weeks to make any amendments.

Once you are happy with your album layout the album can be ordered and will then take between 3-6 weeks to complete, and possibly up to 8 weeks for the bespoke Australian Albums.

Q.  What if I want extra prints in my album?
A.   Wedding Albums come in varies widths to accommodate large numbers of prints and it’s worth saying that most couples choose at least 100 - 150 photographs for their album.  The cost of any extra pages can be made on credit card if necessary.

Q.  What about parents' albums?
A.   We offer a range of albums.  It is ideal if these can be ordered along with any other reprints you may want, although having said that guests can contact us direct to order reprints, if they prefer, months after your wedding day.  Parents are welcome to visit the studio to discuss and select their own album.

Q.  Can we order reprints in years to come?
A.   Yes, all the images are archived and held for several years should you ever need any further prints.
