Cooling towers, domestic hot and cold water storage tanks and distribution systems, all need regular chlorination treatments in accordance with the minimum requirements specified by the Health and Safety Executive's guidance notes.

AQUATIDE recommends that routine water chlorination treatment is incorporated into a preventative maintenance programme, to ensure work is carried out at the intervals specified. AQUATIDE technicians also undertake one off water chlorination treatments, for example where cooling towers that have been out of commission are being returned to service.

Another routine, but nevertheless vital aspect of ensuring water supplies are maintained to required standards is the cleaning of hot and cold water tanks and cooling towers, to remove all traces or rust, slime, sludge, scale, sediment and algae. Where necessary, and if appropriate, new tanks, lids, pipework, rodent filters and insulation can be installed. The preparation and painting of metal tanks using an approved coating can also be undertaken.

Cooling towers, particularly, call for close inspection of all surfaces for signs of deterioration or corrosion. Where required, AQUATIDE are able to replace timber drift eliminators with metal or GRP units and paint, or preferably reline with urethane, cooling tower ponds.

In addition to water hygiene measures, AQUATIDE also offer complete tank refurbishment and Bye-law 30 upgrades in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
