Anglo Stored Pressure Fire Extinguishers

ANGLO VALVE

The Anglo Valve offers many innovative and unique features, ensuring maximum performance, whilst maintaining customer confidence.

 The main features are:

The Anglo stored pressure valve can be rotated after pressurisation to ensure the discharge hose can be realigned with the nozzle retainer and that the pressure gauge is always facing the front.

The revolutionary spindle valve enables the extinguisher to be pressurised without depressing the spindle, eliminating the possibility of powder contaminating the ‘0’ rings, therefore accelerating the recharging procedure.

The pressure gauge can be checked during the annual service, using a magnet. This renders obsolete the requirement to remove or pierce the gauge ‘glass’.

 This has two advantages:

 Increased speed in servicing;

Most importantly, a non-invasive technique removes the possibility of moisture/dirt ingress which increases the reliability of the internal components.

 Further features include corrosion resistant brass valve body, stainless steel spring and safety pin.

 COLOUR CODING

The Anglo Range of hand portable fire extinguishers has been assessed and approved to BS7863: 1996, which requires an area of 3% to 5% of the body being colour coded to indicate the extinguishing media contained in the extinguisher.

WATER, the most commonly used extinguishant for class A fires only, involving carbonaceous materials such as wood, paper, textiles. Water extinguishes fires by cooling the fire, removing the heat needed to sustain combustion and preventing remaining embers from re-igniting.

 TRICLASS, fire extinguishers, with an AFFF additive, have the effect of enhancing its class ‘A’ fire fighting ability and also enabling it to be used on class ‘B’ (liquid fires) very successfully. TRICLASS extinguishers feature a unique nozzle which ensures operator safety if in accidental contact with live electrical equipment, (complies with electrical conductivity test specified in BS EN 3-2: 1996. clause 4, Annex A).

 ABC Dry Powder extinguishers are extremely efficient on class ‘A’ fires, they are also used on class ‘B’ and class ‘C’ fires (Gaseous). (There is no test to determine class ‘C’ fires specified in BS EN 3). In addition they can also be used on live electrical equipment.

 CARBON DIOXIDE (C02) is used on class ‘B’ fires. It can be safely used on live electrical equipment. C02 is extensively used throughout the food industry for its cleanliness in application.
