Ardenoak are pleased to announce a new range of asbestos free materials offering high temperature resistance, flexibility and abrasion resistance.
Many fires are accidentally started by welding sparks, which smoulder until bursting into flames, sometimes when the welding job is finished and the premises are unattended.
Ardenoak welding curtains (or drapes) are used to isolate an area; to protect workers from welding sparks and splatter and to cover and protect flammable materials; machinery; plant and equipment. Suitably positioned they will also protect personnel working nearby from the effect of "flash".
They are manufactured in a choice of materials related to the risk involved and to the size required by the customer. They are also supplied with brass eyelets so that the Welding Curtains are easily and quickly fitted to a free standing or other type of support frame.
Ardenoak welding curtains are completely asbestos free and the fabrics contain no other respirable fibres.
The Ardenoak Technical Department is available to give free of charge advice to any customer's queries, and to send sample materials and quotations on request.
Where abrasion resistance is required we suggest WELD BARRIER EXCELSIOR 2000 which is a glass fibre material treated with a special formulated high temperature finish, with a finished weight of 2000 gm/m². WELD BARRIER EXCELSIOR 2000 will withstand temperatures in excess of 1000ºC and give excellent tensile strength and abrasion resistance. This material is generally used in horizontal applications to protect areas from weld spatter and molten metal, typically machinery, floors, etc.
AIRSPACE - We recommend that with any of our Weld Barrier products air space is provided between the above material and the protected surface in both the horizontal and vertical position.
A similar construction to WELD BARRIER EXCELSIOR 2000 but with a weight of 1300 gm/m² for less arduous duties whilst still giving good tensile strength and abrasion resistance.
A similar construction to WELD BARRIER EXCELSIOR 2000 but with a weight of 1100 gm/m² giving good tensile strength and abrasion resistance.
Where flexibility and high temperature resistance is required we suggest WELD BARRIER SILICA 1250 which is a woven silica material, with a minimum silica content of no less than 96%. This material has been designed for superb flexibility and for continuous use at temperatures of up to 950ºC and will withstand much higher temperatures for short periods and has an incredible melting temperature of 1,600ºC.
A similar construction to WELD BARRIER SILICA 1250 but with a weight of 650 gm/m² for less arduous duties.
WELD
BARRIER 850 is a glass fibre material coated on both sides with
black neoprene, with a finished weight of 850 gm/m² and will withstand high
temperatures with good tensile strength and abrasion resistance. This material
is generally used in vertical applications to protect areas from weld spatter,
typically welding booths, partitions, etc.
