| Armaplate
was formed in 1996 by John Anthony and Simon Waddington.
John spent many years as the Fleet Manager of a large
utility company and was well aware of the problems caused
by constant theft-attacks of light commercial vehicles. In
an effort to eradicate the problem, he designed a lock
protection system and together with his business partner, Simon,
invested heavily in the tooling required to produce the
first plates.
Initially,
lock protection systems were designed for the Ford
Transit and following the success of these, further
models were added to the product range. Now, there are
more than 18 vehicles catered for, with additional
vehicles being added all the time.
In addition
to the Armaplate Lock Protection Systems, we also offer a
solution to the recent (and well publicised) security
weakness in the new-style Ford Transit.
Armaplate
operate from premises in the North West area of the UK but
have outlets throughout the country via third parties
(master locksmiths, etc). Additionally, we are selecting
agents in European countries including Holland, France and
Italy. This expansion is expected to grow considerably
between 2004/2005 with the appointment of more overseas
agents.
