The
Armaplate Lock Protection Systems are made up primarily of
two plates. On the outside of the vehicle is an attractive
and extremely tough stainless steel plate which protects
the lock area. On the inside of the door panel is another
(larger) steel plate which adds further protection. With
the door-skin itself, there is effectively a triple
barrier of steel between the would-be thief and the lock
mechanism.
Is
it easy to fit?
All
Armaplate Lock Protection Systems are easy to fit, but due
to variations in trim-removal from manufacturer to
manufacturer, fitting times vary. For example, it takes us
just three and a half minutes to install on a
Mercedes Sprinter door, but twenty minutes to install on a
Ford Connect door.

Are
instructions included?
As
stated previously, the
plates are extremely easy to fit, but if you don't feel
too confident, we can send you detailed instructions on
CD-ROM. This interactive guide provides text, photos and
videos and covers all makes and models. There is no extra
charge for this service. In addition to that, you can also
speak to one of our engineers directly - they will be
happy to respond to any queries you may have.

Alternatively,
you can view the ONLINE
HELP SECTION,
but please note that it is in the early stages of
development and not quite ready for final release - you
may find errors. Overall though, you should find this
section a great help if you have never installed Armaplate
before. Unlike the CD Version, the Online Help does not
contain any videos.
Do
you have a fitting service?
Yes we
do! Our engineers travel the length and breadth of the UK,
but it should be borne in mind that most of our
installation work is for large fleet-users and utility
customers. If your company is a small business with just
one or two vehicles, we would more than likely schedule
your installation for a day when we are passing enroute to
another job. Of course, if you are not too far from us, we
would schedule an immediate installation. Another
alternative would be for you to have the work carried out
at our workshops here in Bolton.

How
secure is the Armaplate system?
It is a
fact that most break-ins involve the use of a small
screwdriver to puncture the door-skin and activate the
lock mechanism. Armaplate makes that virtually impossible
to do. Not only is the lock mechanism protected on the
outside by a stainless-steel plate, but secondary
protection is provide on the inside of the door-skin by an
even larger steel plate.

What
if the plates are damaged during
an attempted break-in?
Most
thieves recognise the Armaplate Lock Protection System and
seek easier pickings elsewhere, but occasionally, an
unwitting thief will try his best to break into your
vehicle regardless. Whilst he may not be successful with
his attack, he might cause unsightly damage to the plates
by drilling or chiseling , etc.
For
just £20, you can join our new Plate Replacement
Guarantee scheme which will allow you to claim free
replacement plates for any which are damaged through
break-in attempts. There is no limit to the number of
claims you can make during the 12 month period of cover.
This scheme is based on an exchange-scheme, whereby your
damaged plate is replaced with a brand new one.
