ReferralsReferrals should be made in the first instance to Janice Caluori who is based at the Ashwood Centre which is the home of The Ashwood Medico-Legal Consultancy and The Ashwood Practice (formerly Baker & Duncan Family Consultancy). Referrers can give a preference for a named consultant in a particular case. That preference will be honoured subject to the consultant’s availability. Other possibilities may be canvassed with the referrer at this stage, including the possibility of a team approach under the management of a senior consultant. Once an initial agreement is reached it will be incumbent on the referrer to provide a Letter of Instruction and sufficient detail about the case to enable the consultant to prepare a detailed assessment plan and financial estimate. A formal agreement will then be drawn up between the Ashwood Medico-Legal Consultancy and the instructing solicitor(s). The consultants will be similarly bound by a formal agreement to comply with all expectations in line with the Court directions. Referrers should be aware that the Consultancy may need to commission other specialists to assist in completing parts of assessments. In all cases the instructing solicitors will be advised of such a requirement with CV’s supplied as appropriate. ALL REFERRALS FOR EXPERT
