What a question!  It is a fabulous area within a great local village and central to all activities (see Things To Do) in Northern Ireland!

  • The Local Pub, 'The Horse Shoe Inn'.  Situated approx. 1 mile away, at the end of Station Road, in an area called Aghalee. This is a traditional pub, where you should be able to taste a real pint of Guinness!

  • The Local Shop, 'Centra Filling Station'. This sells everything you could ever want!  Centra specialise in selling goods grown locally (where possible), and as well as hot food and cold sandwiches, you'll find the staff very helpful and the locals friendly.
  • The Local Church : Church Of Ireland.  This is a grand, traditional Northern Ireland church, and only a 5 minute walk from the house, with regular services held on a Sunday.  When you arrive, check out the church information board for exact timings as these may change throughout the year.
  • Takeaway food :  With a great kitchen in the Ballinderry Station House, there is ample space and facilities to cook a delicious meal, but we all know the luxury of getting a quick takeaway on holiday.  For this, the closest takeaways are in a village called Moira (about 4 miles from Ballinderry) and there are a range of takeaway and some sit-in restaurants.  Takeaway food in Moira includes:
    • Chinese
    • Pizza
    • Traditional Fish & Chips
  • Ballinderry Antiques : When you stay in the Station House, you are sure to spot the imposing Ballinderry Antiques showroom at the bottom of the village.  This is a great place to pick up some lovely antiques and includes an adjoining gift shop.
  • Fancy a walk:  With the cottage being based in the countryside there are several walks available, nearby and locally.
