Local Information

The local pub is called the ‘Horse Shoe Inn’ and is situated about 1 mile away in Aghalee.  It is a traditional pub where you can experience a real pint of Guiness.  Another pub nearby is ‘Chesters’ and is on the main A26 road to Moira.  Here you will be able to enjoy a good pub meal.

The Local Shop, Centra—fabulous! :

The local shop for all essentials and sells everything is only a 2 minute walk from the cottage—at the top of the lane.  Here you’ll find all your grocery needs, deli counter, hot food counter, lottery ticket sales, off-licence (for alcohol) and much much more.  It opens to 10pm most evenings and is a real bonus to the self-catering holiday experience.

The Local Church:

The local church in Ballinderry Village is the ‘Church Of Ireland’ and it welcomes visitors every week.

Takeaway Food :

This is always part of any holiday cottage experience, and there is a local ‘chippie’ beside the Centra garage so only 2 minutes walk again.  There are other takeaways in Moira (about 4 miles away) and includes pizzas and Chinese.

Ballinderry Antiques:

You will spot this building at the bottom of Ballinderry village.  Have a browse when you stay at the holiday cottage—the building and rooms just keep going and you may pick up a nice keepsake from your holiday.

Fancy a walk:

With the holiday cottage being based in the countryside, there are several walks available nearby and locally.
