Photographs to CD Service.
Would you like your favourite slides, negatives and other photographs scanned electronically and transferred to CD? Have your old and damaged pictures restored? See your pictures on your television?
We can scan your 35mm colour or black and white photos - slides or negatives - to CD-ROM or DVD at a choice of resolutions up to 4000 dpi. They can either be scanned as they are (with minimal cleaning) or, at extra cost, we can remove dust marks, scratches, telephone wires, satellite dishes, relatives or any other annoying artefacts you wish.
Scanning colour or black and white slides or negatives, with no manual improvements and cleaning, is the cheapest and quickest option. This allows you to archive your photographs to CD for the least cost. You can, with appropriate software, remove blemishes yourself where you feel this is necessary.
Price: £0.45p each
Removing minor blemishes, dust marks and scratches and optimising colour, contrast and brightness gives a good result, and is the most suitable treatment for the majority of photographs. This service is in addition to the basic scanning charge.
Price: £5.50 each
Removing larger blemishes, telephone wires, objects, people is much more complicated, and takes more time and lots of care. This service is charged at £26.50 per hour, in addition to the basic cost of scanning your pictures. If you send us the photographs and tell us what you would like to have done to them, we can give you an estimate of the time and cost involved, and advise on what can and can't be done.
This option is also available for digital pictures. We can take images from disc, email or your camera's media and enhance it in the same ways.

The same image after cleaning (removal of dust and scratches) and improvements (pedestrian and rickshaw gone, telegraph wires gone, floodlights on front of temple and their shadows gone, colour improved). The original picture was taken on Kodak Ektachrome about 45 years ago, and had faded to a very thin, magenta image with little or no colour or detail on it.
Scanning photographic prints and other documents.
We can also scan - or in some cases photograph - photographic prints and other documents.
Up to A4 in size will normally be scanned either in colour or in black and white.

Do you have photographs or documents larger than A4? We can photograph those and put the pictures onto CD-ROM for you.
If the document requires no special processing, this can be done for £5.00 per document.
Torn or creased photographic print? Blotches to remove? We can do this at a price of £26.50 per hour, in addition to the basic £5.00 to photograph larger prints, or £1.00 for prints up to A4.
Printing Service
We can print your photographs in high quality colour to larger than A3 in size (13" by 19" - 329mm by 483mm). We can print from photos we have scanned or from digital files from your digital camera. Call for details
We will return the original photographs or documents to you, plus your CD, using the same carriage methods as you used to send them to us. The cost of this return is extra. Presumably your photos are precious to you - and certainly we treat them that way. It is probably best to send them insured.
DVD Slide Show
Your digitised images can be put onto DVD as a slide show, which can be played using a DVD player to display your pictures on your television or PC. You can use your remote to select the photographs you want to see, or run the pictures in order.
Price: £25:00 including up to 30 image scans.
