our main aim. British Horse Society inspectors conduct unannounced yearly inspections to ensure that standards are kept high at all BHS Approved establishments. The certificate shows that we’ve passed all inspections for 2010.

Riding Hats

If you’re bringing your own hat, please ensure that it conforms to one of these current standards: BS EN1384, PAS015 & ASTM F1163. If it doesn’t, then you will be provided with one of our own that does.

Footwear & Clothes

Wear sensible shoes or boots with a low heel and a fairly smooth sole. Wear strong trousers or jeans which cover the entire leg. Gloves are a good idea, especially for small children – and for everyone in cold weather.

Mobile Phones

Please make sure that these are turned-off or set to silent mode. Some horses take exceptions to loud and unexpected ring-tones.

Registration Forms

These standard forms are required to be completed by all riders the first time they ride at Bentley. They are used to acknowledge the risks of riding. A blank copy is available from the Booking page

We have at least one trained first-aider at the riding-school at all times. All instructors are trained first aiders holding the Health & Safety Executive: First Aid at Work Certificate
