More about Biodynamic Massage?

Bio means Life, Dynamic means Force. Biodynamic Massage aims to help us realise our own unique “Life-Force” which may be stifled for various reasons. In essence, it is all about helping us to be ourselves. The technique is well-established as an effective body therapy with physical and emotional benefits. It is very much client-led and is adapted by the therapist to suit your needs.

At the most simple level Biodynamic Massage is a pleasurable form of massage which can be enjoyed for its own sake. It can serve to relax, rejuvenate or stabilise you or to relieve the aches and pains accumulated in day to day life. Some physical ailments can be relieved and improvement supported. Biodynamic Massage is particularly effective with stress-related complaints such as head-aches and migraine, chronic muscular tension or IBS.

Biodynamic Massage can be very helpful if you are experiencing emotional difficulties in your life. Techniques can be employed by the therapist to help release deeply held emotions or contain emotions which have become unruly.

The therapeutic qualities of touch in healing and health-care are becoming more widely acknowledged today – it can be particularly important for many where caring, nurturing contact is rare – such as the elderly, terminally ill or lonely. Touch can help to build and restore self-esteem and confidence and strengthen our immune systems.

Everyone has different needs and an initial discussion is held with you to develop understanding of your needs before embarking on a course of treatments. Thereafter each session begins with a short consultation so that it can be tailored to the needs of the day.

Normally a course of at least six treatments is recommended for you to enjoy the full benefits of the process. Once weekly sessions are recommended although fortnightly may also be beneficial.
