~~  Who are the Rainbows ?  ~~

Rainbow Guides are the youngest members of
The Guide Association in the UK.
We are between 5 and 7 years old.

Rainbows take the name from the story of Noah and the Ark.

After the rains had ceased and Noah had left the Ark,
God made a
Rainbow   as a sign of his Promise to Noah.

~~  What do Rainbow Guides do?  ~~

We meet once a week and take part in all sorts of activities.

We play games, paint and make things,
listen to stories, sing songs,
learn about nature and the environment
and do many more activities both in and out of doors.

In whatever we do, Rainbows explore, share and discover.

We have our own adventures and at the same time learn to be kind and helpful.

Many of our activities aim to develop every girl at a pace which suits her
and is based on the Essentials of Guiding.

~~  Who can be a Rainbow Guide?  ~~

Any girl over the age of 5 (4 in Ulster) can become a Rainbow Guide
as long as she is able to understand, and wants to make, the Rainbow Guide Promise.

Rainbow Guides meet together in units of between 5 and 15 girls
and can spend up to 2 years in the Rainbow unit.

~~  The Program for Rainbows includes:  ~~

Rainbows follow the Guiding 8 point programme, which are:

  • Rainbows are ready to help
