Jujitsu
is the oldest of the Japanese martial Arts, it comprises punching,
kicking, throwing & locking. It is ideal for self-defence, and
builds body strength. We use ancient Aikijutsu techniques, famous
for needing little effort to perform , preferring to use leverage
and technique. The use of the sword developed the techniques of
Aikijutsu, and weapons defences are still relevant in todays
increasingly violent society.
In November 2003 , we met and trained under Toby Threadgill,
Menkyo Kaiden of Shindo Yoshin Ryu. We were completely blown away
by the skill and knowledge he exhibited, and the completeness of
the style.
In 2004, in Colorado, Rob was accepted by Toby
as a student leading a Takamura Ha Shindo Yoshin Ryu study group.
This involved taking a blood oath, or Keppan. Rob and Shirley are
delighted to be associated with the style that became Wado Ryu Karate.

We have trained in a Japanese school of Samurai
Aikijutsu which had been closed for 800 years to outsiders. The
real Jujitsu of Japan is very different to most British influenced
Jujitsu, and we have tried to redress the balance in our school
by including the ancient Aikibudo & Aikijutsu
techniques removed by other schools.
Most of our students study Yoshin no Michi,
(the Willow Heart Way)the name I decided to adopt to best illustrate
the belief in the "JU " of Jujutsu. This is primarily
a Kempo Jujutsu system with the re-introduction of much of the
Aiki that was removed.
