An enormously lucrative industry has developed in the last fifty years, aimed at treating defects of emotional, behavioural, intellectual and cognitive performance. Even some more physical problems such as dyspraxia (clumsiness) are dragged into this growing industry. Large numbers of psychiatrists, psychologists, counsellors, vendors of antidepressants, tranquillisers and other behavioural drugs, sellers of crystals and performers of various "alternative" therapies are involved in supplying "treatments" for the growing number of emotional and cognitive disorders. All to no avail for those being treated, although those doing the treating are doing very well. Some cognitive disorders are caused by genetic defects or damage at birth, but many are not. Most emotional and behavioural disorders are caused by nutritional deficiencies or adverse reactions to various foods or chemical additives. A primary school teacher who we hold in high regard said to us: "If you saw the contents of the kids' lunchboxes, you would be horrified - most of them aren't too bad in the morning, but after lunch, those who brought lunchboxes full of cola and crisps are so hyperactive they're almost impossible to control." Diet is the problem. "Dieting" is also a problem. The modern diet, which in many cases consists largely of factory-prepared food, is loaded with artificial flavours, colours and preservatives. It also tends to be made with refined carbohydrates, high in sugar and low in fibre. Nutrients in such foods have been removed with the fibre. Also, in almost all cases, the meals are loaded with hydrogenated fats; oils that start out very healthy, but are subjected to extremely high temperatures and have hydrogen bubbled through them. This type of fat is harmful. The end result of consumption of such foods is a very low consumption of vitamins and minerals, thus reducing resistance to toxins, and an increase in toxins that the body can no longer resist. So the nervous system is weakened by reduced nutrient intake, and is attacked by unnatural chemicals. DietingMainly a Female Problem¨ Meals are missed. ¨ Blood sugar levels therefore go down. ¨ Glucose is the body's main fuel. ¨ Glucose is one of the two main fuels for the brain. ¨ If the body is short of fuel, it is very tired. ¨ If the brain is short of glucose, it is very tired, and depression sets in. ¨ Panic attacks also occur. So; get your diet right, but in the short term, while healing the body, take some supplements:
