Wrinkle free at 73?That gets your attention, doesn't it!
A
number of years ago, Professor Masquelier of France discovered that an extract
from the bark of the maritime pine, grown in the Bordeaux area of France, has
remarkable protective effects on the body. The professor obtained a patent, and
called it Pycnogenol.
A
number of years after patenting Pycnogenol, Professor Masquelier researched
another extract, from grape seeds. After much investigation, he stated that
grapeseed extract was even more effective than pycnogenol, because it contains a
powerful phytochemical not present in pycnogenol. Some experts are not sure that
he was right, but as each contains phytochemicals (called proanthocyanidins)
that the other does not, it is obvious that a combination of the two is a world
beater.
In all plants, there are a great number of bioflavonoids (naturally occurring plant chemicals) that protect the plant against damaging agents. A sub-group of these is called oligomeric proanthocyanidins. These seem to have the strongest effects of all bioflavonoids. They are present in particularly large amounts in pycnogenol and grape seed extract.
Free
Radical Damage
Most people nowadays have heard of free radicals. The death of cells due to free radical damage is a primary cause of aging of the body, and various degenerative diseases including cardiovascular problems, brain and eye deterioration and even cancer, but most important, it causes wrinkles, cellulite and varicose veins. Pine bark and grapeseed extracts are very potent antioxidants - 50 times more potent than vitamin E and 20 times more potent than even vitamin C. In addition to this, they prevent the breakdown of vitamin C, thus allowing it to do its job better. One of vitamin C's jobs is to maintain and rebuild collagen. This is the material that keeps skin and artery walls strong, elastic and supple. The protein collagen is the primary component of the skin. Elastin is an essential component of connective tissue. A network of collagen fibres with elastin gives skin its elasticity and smoothness. Pycnogenol and grapeseed extract can actually repair damaged collagen and elastin, and protect against further attack by free radicals. Their protective effect works for the whole body, internally and externally. Goodbye Wrinkles! To buy any of these products, click this link: www.NationalNutrition.co.uk |
