In 2007 Bishops Wood and its residents won the Best Kept Small Village in South Staffordshire - on its first time of entering, quite an achievement. Following feedback from the community the BKV committee have agreed to also enter Bishops Wood into the 2008 competition. The only way the village can hope to achieve the success of last year is if, once again, everyone gets involved and makes the same tremendous contribution as before. Plans are already in hand so look out for the notices in the Bugle and around the village for any litter-picks etc. Best of all, if everyone can continue to care of the village on a day to day basis then we're heading in the right direction.
The Christmas Lights Committee are just finalising the accounts for 2007/2008 and expect to have a small amount of money to carry forward and add to the Christmas Lights grant the Parish Council will once again be making available. Some new investments were made this year to add to our stock of lights - a list of what we have and where it is stored will be filed at the Parish Council for future reference. Thank you everyone who store lights during the year and who are kind enough to put them up or allow them to be plugged in to private supplies for the festive season - your support is very much appreciated.
Every Wednesday morning during term time, between 10 am and 12 noon in Bishops Wood Village Hall. Why not join us for fun, games, nursery rhymes, craft table, tea, coffee and a chat. Look out for our diary of activities in the Bishops Wood Bugle.
The committee are responsible for the day to day management of the hall and for its development and maintenance to ensure the community has access to a public venue. The hall and bar can be hired by residents of Bishops Wood and by anyone from the wider community - residents receive preferential hire fees. More information is available from the Village Hall tab at the top of this page.
