Common Ground 2007

With two new ministers in our Common Ground group of Churches
there's a good chance of the shape and feel of Common Ground
changing a bit. In fact the first few months of 2007 will see just such
a change and will give us a chance to get to know our two new Ministers
a bit better. We've decided that for these first few months each of
the Ministers will prepare and lead a service which reflects a particular
personal interest.

Our next Common Ground service will be at the United Reformed
Church, on 25th February and it will be led by the new URC Minister,
Terry Sparks. Terry is South African and brings considerable
experience of growing up in South Africa and in particular, within the
Church in South Africa. He's recently done some theological study of
the South African 'Truth and Reconciliation Commission' and the
February Common Ground service will be based on insights drawn from
that experience.

On 25th March I shall lead a service at BPC in which we' II reflect on
Church Schools. As so called "Faith" schools are under the microscope
as never before, I hope this will be helpful and thought provoking.

On 25th April, Russell Bates, our new Methodist Minister will indulge
his passion in "Superman" comics, Russell has an amazing collection of
these and has found a good deal of theology in them. At the March
Common Ground service he wilt share some of that with us.

Do come and share in this new direction for Common Ground.
