Could you volunteer for Brecon and Radnor Samaritans?
We offer a wide variety of ways for you to get involved with Samaritans. The roles available are identified below and give you an option of getting directly involved in delivering our service or assisting in a number of other ways that enable us to keep our service running.

Listening
The listening role is our most front line role and will carry out the very service that Samaritans is all about. You will be ‘listening’ through the phone, emails, letters, face to face or by text (depending on the branch you’re in) and providing real help to the thousands of people who make contact with the Samaritans each year.
Administration
All branches are run by volunteers. In the administration role you will be assisting the day to day running by providing essential administration support to all functions of the Branch.
Fundraising
All branches are independent charities and as such need to raise vital funds that allow them to keep the branch open and continuing to support their community. As a fundraising volunteer, you will have the key role of the planning and delivering the fundraising activities of the branch.
Finance
As branches have independent charity status, all are required to involve a treasurer as part of their management committee. If you have an interest or experience in dealing with all finance activities, then this might be the role for you.
Reaching out
A key part of our work is by reaching out into the community and talk to schools, colleges, community groups and organisations about the work that we do. As with other roles, reaching out to communities is completely volunteer run and if you enjoy talking about what we do, this is the role for you. Note that this role is not available in all branches.
