Ian Drayton

Previous Bands:  Hatfield Main; Carlton Main Frickley; Stocksbridge; Chapel-En-Le Frith; Leyland; High Peak Brass.

 

Ian started playing trombone at the age of 9 as a second instrument to the Cello. He played in the Humberside & District Youth Orchestra, Brass Band & Swing Band up to the age of 16 and joined Hatfield Main at 15 years old.

At 17, he joined Carlton Main Frickley and played there for 10 years before rejoining Hatfield on Solo Trombone where his wife Jane played Solo Horn.

Ian also played for Stocksbridge during this time before moving to Derbyshire in 2001. Ian then joined Chapel-En-Le-Frith and also played for Leyland at the National finals in 2001 before signing for High Peak Brass.

After a short break from banding, Ian joined the BT band in 2004.
